Up was an awesome movie. The best I've ever seen in a really, really long time.
I didn't really expect it but there were a few parts in the movie where my eyes moistened (it wasn't enough to make me cry though but I don't usually cry over movies/books/dramas at all so I guess this is quite an achievement hahaha). Oh there was one really sad part, which was something like this.
(Spoiler)
The young boy, Russell, tells Carl (the old man) a long, wandering story about how he and his Dad used to go to Fenton's (an ice cream store) after Wilderness Explorer meetings, and after their ice cream they'd sit on the curb outside Fenton’s and play a game where he’d get a point for every blue car and his dad would get a point for every red car. But they were not like that anymore because his dad was too busy for him. There was a minute pause, then he said to Carl (who wasn't really paying much attention to him), “It may sound boring.. But it’s the boring things I remember the most.”
All the parts where Carl did the "cross my heart" thing were also sad. So were the parts where they kept having to destroy the bottle for Paradise Falls and when Ellie died. :( Initially I'd thought Ellie was this irritating and over-enthu bogay girl!!!
(End spoiler)
The movie was hilarious too haha. We laughed/squealed really loudly in the cinema. Oops. :X
In the end Pang and Guan did not go for the movie. That left me, Chua and Jeow.
After the movie, we walked around and slacked with Cheeyuan and some others for a while. After that we split up, Sally and I went to Jurong SAFRA. For KBox. The touch screen control thing was really good, made choosing songs so much easier and more efficient. But it was really cold there, I swear I was shivering and everything. When I went to the washroom and I washed my hands with normal tap water, it made my hands feel warm or slightly hot, even.
I realise that I haven't been blogging about the happenings in my life very much recently. I spend most of the time ranting about random topics or just purging everything in my head. And the bottom section of this post shall now be reserved for that purpose, as well.
Random memo #1: Our President is S.R. Nathan. Jonathan is going to be the future President, J.O. Nathan. (I know it sounds really lame but when they said it out loud in class people burst out laughing.)
Random memo #2: I have not eaten takoyaki for months!!!!!!!
Random memo #3: I think I am still sad really often but I am used to feeling like that. It is fine with me. It really is. Okay well, I am sad but at least it isn't affecting my work that much. I still manage to get things done, which is always a good thing.
Random memo #4: I'm really glad to know I'm not deluding myself!!! (I think.) Hahaha. I guess it's obvious that I'm still in doubt.
Random memo #5: When I sleep, I always hug something. Currently, I hug a stuffed toy. It is shaped like a rectangular tofu. It is green. I have had it for nearly 3 years now. Most of the time I sleep on my side, hugging the tofu. But I would be so much on my side that while my arms are around the tofu, my lower body is twisted to face flat down on the bed. When this twisted position gets too uncomfortable sometimes, I turn my torso and lie flat down on the bed as well, with my right arm still over the tofu. My head would be twisted to a side so I can breathe. And on those very rare days where I don't have my tofu, I try to lie flat on my back but most of the time I'll give up and roll over to my side. At camps, I usually sleep flat on my back or curled up on my side. Sometimes in camps I find my legs curling up to my chest because it's too cold.
Random memo #6: I am going to sleep now. I can imagine the touch of the tofu and the cover of my duvet covers over my shoulders already.
Good night. (\/) !
