Justin's leaving for London today.

(The shorter guy in yellow, not the tall one.)

Due to my curfew and other things like that, I am unable to send him off today. They're probably at the airport now.

The first time I met Justin, was not due to Prefects but in class.

He was taking over for Project Work, because the teacher (whose name I shall not state because I somehow feel penning her name down would pollute my blog. Bizarre, isn't it) was absent.

That time, we were supposed to split into groups of four, at most five. I was still in the same clique as Fiona then, and there were seven of us - simply too many. Therefore, Pui Ling and I were excluded. She wasn't asked by her usual clique of friends (partly because she was sitting with me, I think), and I wasn't asked by Fiona and the others. Both of us were torn apart, both on the verge of crying. Justin came over and tried to settle the problem for us... Well we didn't tell him about being excluded - he was trying to get the job done, which was to separate us into groups.

I still remember the tears welling in my eyes and I was mortified. No way am I going to cry. That's what I thought.

Subsequently, I got to know Justin through Prefects. Initially I couldn't understand why he had to give the whole Prefects' system a revamp - wasn't the old system good enough? Indeed, the Prefectorial Council was, without any doubt, significantly more systematic and organised. However, I felt that it was too strict. I simply couldn't comprehend why we weren't allowed to do certain things.

We told Benson about it before. And he told us, it's because that Justin's our senior and he's trying to help us, to prevent a repetition of the mistakes he once faced, when he was a Prefect himself. Still, I couldn't accept this reason... But now, I know why.

This system, albeit strict, has modeled and shaped me into a better person. Honestly, if I never got into Prefects, I think I would still be leading a lackadaisical life, just like last year. Prefects has made me a more grounded person, more realistic and practical. I still have a lot to learn, but for everything that I've picked up thus far, it's kudos to a lot of people, and Justin is one of them. Because without him, the Prefectorial Council would still be following the old system. And then, maybe I wouldn't grow to be who I am now. Thank you, Justin Tan. Take care in London, we'll miss you a lot and a lot. =)

Both of you gave me the same advice. Haha =)

Thank you.

I know what to do. I'll heed your advice.

She's my best friend... =)

Recently, when we had a farewell lunch for Justin in Seoul Garden at Causeway Point sometime last week, I made this casual comment: "I haven't been here for a long time... When was the last time I came here?"

I remember. It was last year. I went there, with HS and Krystal.

Things have changed so much since then.

I wasn't able to pinpoint the exact date I went there last, but now, after scouring through my archives and photos, I've gotten my answer. June 4, 2007.

We're acting cam-shy.

It was hilarious... I've always enjoyed spending time with the both of them. Although depression was omnipresent last year, it was just... impossible, for my mood to not be brought up when I'm with her. She's crazy, she's insane, she's hilarious, she's my best friend.

Guess what happened last year, at Causeway Point?

We were walking around in John Little when the weirdest thing happened... I was just looking around when suddenly HS shrieked, "OH MY GOD!"

I wheeled around to see what happened. And I saw a spot of blood on the white, tiled floor.

I'm sure you have your own assumption of what happened. But it's probably wrong. Because what happened wasn't what... well, what we learnt in Chapter 5 of the Science textbook this year.

She got a nose bleed.

It was hysterical. While we reached out to help her - Krystal thrusting napkins into her hands - we were laughing, too. Only things like these can happen to her.

This morning, I saw her downstairs. She was waiting for Krystal. (She takes Krystal's car to school almost every morning.) Her eyes widened in excitement, and she waved to me enthusiastically. Then I realised how much I've been feeding myself excuses, saying we're both too busy to meet up. What the fiak, okay. After exams I'm definitely going out with her.

For that matter, I'm going to go out with tons of people!

  • Sally
  • Ruth (I don't care if you don't want to go out, I'm going to drag you out of your house!)
  • HS
  • Dewi
  • Share Ler (Maybe? Not sure.)

  • Should be about it. There'll be more to come, I think.

I read around 250 pages of The Host today. This is the second time I'm reading it.
